PHOTOGRAPHS:

This is the beginning of a collection of  photographs to show members of the Regimental Headquarters and attached troops.  In the table below these photos will be grouped by company/troop and listed within those groups in chronological order.  By scaning the first column (ID code) you will be able to spot any photo that is related to your unit and the time that you were there.  The leading character of the ID code for each photo (or group of photos) will identify the subject unit.  If the photo pertains to Hq/Staff and/or more than two units its leading character will be the number 1.  The following digits show when the photo was taken or the year(s) in which the men pictured served in the unit.  Photos taken in the recent years are identified by entry in last column (Yr).

Some photos of interest to all units of the Regiment are posted in this collection.  Others associated with an item on the bulletin board or with a particular history page are directly linked to that item/page.   A collection of photos taken 1987 along the border in all sectors between Czechoslovakia and the Baltic Sea can be seen at  this link

As more of our veterans gain experience in archiving their digital and scanned photographs on personal web pages we will certainly welcome any help they can offer in the development of this page.

*********************************************************************

We encourage the contribution of photographs that can be of interest to the troops with whom you served and their families.  In particular we would like to show scenes of field training and border operations and group photographs in which individuals can be recognized.  (For groups of more than ten it is usually difficult to achieve the level of resolution that will support individual recognition within the space available to the web site.)

If you have a scanner your photos in jpg format attached to email can be sent to us at   14acr@14cav.org  (For collections of more than three photos it may be better to send on disk by regular mail.)

(1)  In the text of your message please give the time (date, month or season) and location of the scene as well as you can recall.  If the scene is on the border the location can be given in terms of general direction and distance from a village or OP that troops will probably remember.

(2)  It will be helpful if you give your message the Subject "Photo 3xnn".  Make "x" the letter designation of your company/troop and "nn" the year that the photo was taken.

If you do not have a scanner your photo prints can be sent to:

14th ACR Committee
P.O. Box 57
Ivy, VA 22945

Please let us know if you wish to have the prints returned.
